Removing the Stigma in Pakistan
Period poverty is the lack of access to sanitary and clean products, menstrual hygiene education, toilets, hand-washing facilities and waste management.
Our goal is to empower young girls and their mothers to manage their menstrual health through educating a school in a rural Pakistani village, and providing each of the 30 girls with at least 2 reusable pads. Our hope is to reduce the stigma in this community surrounding periods to improve the hygiene and help girls go through their days with dignity and autonomy.
Only a small percentage of woman who go through menstruation are actually using pads and properly hygienic products, about 12% of woman can afford them in the first place in Pakistan. We are striving to fix this problem by encouraging more girls to use pads and to not be ashamed of using them.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
